Dr. Akanksha Rani, has a doctorate in Psychiatric Social Work from NIMHANS, Bengaluru, wherein she worked on trauma-focused research. She has almost 12 years of experience of working with men and women who are trauma survivors. She has applied trauma-informed lens to trauma-focused psychotherapy especially seeing effectiveness of postmodern psychotherapies like narrative therapy, solution-focused brief therapy and trauma-Focused Family Therapy (TF-FT) when working with individuals and families who are trauma survivors. She has also explored grief as an outcome of trauma and has applied acceptance and commitment therapy and have worked from eclectic approach applying humanistic-existential therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy.

 

She has significant experience in couple and family therapy, addressing various issues such as work-life balance challenges for working couples, relationship difficulties in same-sex couples due to societal stereotypes, and complications arising from mental health issues in couples. Additionally, she has worked with families dealing with adolescent substance abuse and emotional or behavioral problems.

Dr. Akanksha is a certified Art Therapy practitioner and a certified Queer Affirmative Therapist (certified QACP from Mariwala Health Initiative).

Family therapy- Rs. 4000 per session
